Low Power Wireless Sensor Development

A compact and versatile sensor module has been developed around the XBee S2 (*) radio from Digi International.

APPLICATIONS:

- Sensor module - temperature, humidity, pressure, light, flex, strain, acceleration, motion, etc.

- Wireless DAQ board

- Remote wireless control of appliances, devices, machines.

- Development board for XBee radios

FEATURES AND SPECIFICATIONS:

- ZigBee (**) enabled: can be integrated into a ZigBee star or mesh wireless sensor network

- Frequency band: ISM 2.4GHz

- Range: 40m indoor, 120m outdoor typical; increased range by using routers and gateways

- I/O: 4 analog input, 8 digital input/output

- Temperature spec: -40 to +85C (industrial)

- Power supply: 0.9V - 3.3V DC, 2x AA batteries typical

- 2x mini terminal blocks for quick sensor attachment
- Basic on-board signal conditioning
- Sleep/awake cycle: LED indicator + header to control external equipment

- Reset button
